How to cut big metal pipe square？

Square Steel Tube is a welded structural grade tubing that is available in either type A513 or A500 Grade B, depending on its size and wall thickness. Double-Drive Pneumatic Chuck Rotation System:

Use a CNC laser cutting machine with a dual-drive system (active axis W and passive axis W1) to ensure full-travel cutting of long pipes. The active chuck fixes the pipe, while the passive chuck moves along the axis to maintain stability during cutting.

Fix the Pipe: Secure the square pipe in the machine using pneumatic chucks. For very large pipes, ensure the worktable is reinforced.

Adjust Parameters:

Set the laser power and cutting speed based on the pipe’s material (e.g., stainless steel, carbon steel) and thickness.

Increase oxygen pressure (6–8 MPa) to prevent slag adhesion and corner overburning.

Start Cutting:

Use the CNC system to program the cutting path. For sharp corners, optimize the acceleration/deceleration settings to avoid deformation.

Monitor the process to ensure the laser head follows the programmed trajectory.
